7 Wellness Hacks That I Swear By as a Female Founder

I’m a female founder who also works a 9-5 which means that I don’t have time for long wellness routines. On most days, I’m lucky if I get 1 hour of ‘me’ time which can make the typically self-care ideas and wellness tips and bit out of reach!

However, as a wellness enthusiast, I know how incredibly important it is to stay on top of your wellbeing 🙌 And over the years, I have found some life-changing wellness hacks that allow me to tap into my inner wellness babe whilst working 12+ hours per day.

Here are 7 wellness hacks that I swear by as a busy female founder.

The walking desk: The ultimate way to get your daily steps in

If you google ‘wellness tips’, I guarantee that EVERY SINGLE blog post will recommend daily steps (or movement of some kind!). But as a busy person, hitting 10,000 steps a day can sometimes seem impossible.

Enter, the walking desk. The ultimate way to move your body whilst answering emails!

My walking desk is by far my best wellness investment. It allows me to hit my daily movement goals without having to sacrifice any time on my business or full-time job.

My top tip is a buy a walking pad (like the one above) and then buy an adjustable desk separately (like the one below!). I found that this was waaay cheaper than buying a ready-built walking desk. Plus, this allows you move your desk or walking pad around if you ever fancy using it in a different way.

Don’t just take my word for it, try it yourself!

I’ve recommended my walking desk hack to quite a few of my busy friends, and they all thank me for it!

You see, moving your body has been proven to improve focus, boost creativity and lower stress. So, 30 minutes on your walking pad could significantly improve your performance at work!

If you work in an office, consider asking your manager if you could make the switch to a walking desk. It’s a small investment that could have huge benefits!

2. Noise Cancelling Headphones

If you’re someone who struggles to focus when people are talking or when your head is a bit loud, noise cancelling headphones are a gamechanger 🙌

I recommend opting for something on the higher-end of your price range - ‘cheap’ noise-cancelling headphones usually aren’t as effective as the most expensive ones.

I like to use these when I’m engaging in deep work, journaling or to meditate!

You would be amazed at how beneficial 30 minutes of peace can be when you spend all day running around!

Like I mentioned above, not all noise-cancelling headphones are actually noise cancelling! However, I found these ones on Amazon which are pretty good and not too expensive.

3. Red Light Facial Massager (we don’t all have time to sit in a mask for 60 minutes!)

If you’re like me, you’ve probably seen influencers and celebrities wearing those futuristic red light LED face masks that reduce fine lines, smooth skin and boost collagen.

I immediately wanted to jump on the bandwagon! However, I don’t have time to sit in a mask for 60 minutes each day.

Instead, I use a red LED facial massager during my day-to-day skincare routine. This device offers all of the same benefits as a red light mask and a gua sha in one! Plus, you don’t need to sit around for 60 minutes.

Another major benefit of using a massager instead of a mask is the price. My massager cost me just $40 (around £35) which is waaay cheaper than the average LED mask, which cost around $100 (for a cheap one!).

4. A detailed planner

Staying organised and on top of your daily tasks is an act of self care 🙌

We’ve all been through those days when everything piles up and you feel like curling up in a ball and hiding until all of the stress goes away.

Well, investing in a good planner could help you to avoid days like these.

I’m not talking about a basic to-do list here. No, I’m talking about a comprehensive, hour-by-hour planner that helps you map out your entire day like you’re planning some kind of top-secret operation.

The best planners are those that help you to brain dump all of your daily tasks and organise them in a way that allows you to easily fit everything into your day (and maybe even find some free time for yourself!).

There are quite a few brands that sell planners like these. However, some of them come with a pretty hefty price tag. I like this one, which is a bit more affordable.

5. Supergreens

Some days, the thought of cutting, chopping and washing vegetables can seem a bit out of reach. This is where supergreen powders can be a bit of a wellness lifesaver.

Supergreens make it possible to get your daily dose of vitamins in one, easy-to-make drink.

Of course, there are a lot of benefits to eating actual fruits and vegetables (so you should definitely make time for these most days!). However, supergreens are a great substitute for days when life gets a bit hectic.

6. Sunrise alarm clock

Your not a female founder until you’ve joined the 5am club (or so they say!). Waking up early comes with a range of benefits: you have more time to get stuff done, fit in a workout and work on your business before your 9-5!

However, waking up earlier than usual isn’t always easy.

I struggled with waking up earlier for ages until I discovered sunrise alarm clocks. These alarm clock flood your room with natural sunlight, making it much easier to get out of bed and start your day.

Starting your day with sunlight has been proven to boost your immune system, lower stress and stabilize your appetite - all pretty good reasons to invest in this wellness hack!

7. Shower steamers

This one is for the girls who want to go for a sauna and steam but don’t have the time (or money) to do so.

It’s the ultimate life hack for us extra girls who like to romanticize life and indulge themselves- even if it’s just for 5 minutes a day!
