5 Things I’m Doing in June to Enjoy Life More

Summer always has a way of reminding me to slow down and savour the little things- coffee in the sun, longer walks without checking the time, and the quiet magic of an evening that doesn’t demand productivity.

This June, I’m making a conscious decision to enjoy life more. Not by doing more, but by feeling more, more present, more peaceful, more in tune with what makes me feel good. I’ve swapped the hustle for softness and reconnected with habits that feel nourishing. Here's what that looks like for me right now:

1. Embracing Low-Intensity Workouts

Gone are the days when I believed every workout had to leave me breathless and sore to "count." This month, I’m all about moving for joy, not punishment.

Think long walks with a podcast, gentle yoga flows, and dance-around-my-room stretches that remind me my body is my friend, not a project.

Not only has this approach helped with my energy levels, but it’s also deepened my connection to movement as something I get to do, not something I have to do. If you’ve been feeling burnt out by your fitness routine, consider this your sign to soften it up.

2. Prioritizing Feminine Energy Activities

This is the summer I’m choosing softness over structure. I’ve been doing more activities that connect me to my feminine energy—like slow, mindful Pilates sessions, journaling with a candle lit, and (don’t laugh) colouring books.

There’s something so grounding about switching off from screens and doing something just for the feeling of it. These little rituals might not be "productive" in the traditional sense, but they fill me up in ways a to-do list never could.

3. Doing One Thing From My Dopamine Menu Every Day

I created a little “dopamine menu” on a whim last month—basically a list of small, feel-good actions I can pick from when I need a boost. And let me tell you: life-changing.

On my list?
– Grabbing my favourite coffee
– Buying myself flowers
– Having a sweat treat
– Voice-noting a friend
– Listening to a feel-good playlist

Doing just one of these a day reminds me that joy isn’t always found in big milestones—it’s built in the moments we choose to treat ourselves with care.

4. Practising the ‘Let Them’ Theory

This mindset shift has been a quiet game-changer: if someone wants to do something… let them. Let them cancel. Let them misunderstand you. Let them scroll instead of listening. Let them go.

Instead of controlling or clinging, I’m learning to lean into trust—trusting myself, my boundaries, and the fact that not everything needs a reaction. It’s freeing, and it’s making my relationships feel more peaceful and spacious.

5. Going Makeup-Free (More Than I Thought I Could)

There’s something radically kind about letting your skin breathe, especially in the summer. I’ve been embracing makeup-free days, and while I still love a bit of blush and brow gel, it’s been refreshing to look in the mirror and just see myself.

No filter, no foundation—just a little SPF and confidence. It’s been part of a bigger shift toward showing up more authentically and feeling comfortable in my own skin (even when it's breaking out, because #real).

Final Thoughts

If June had a mantra, mine would be: less force, more flow. Life doesn’t always need to be a goal or a grind- it can be soft, quiet, and joyfully slow. These five things might be small, but together they’re helping me build a life that feels as good as it looks.

So here’s your gentle reminder: it’s okay to enjoy your life right now, not just when you’ve “earned” it.

What are you doing this month to make life feel lighter?
