We’ve all been there, saving another that girl routine to Pinterest, buying yet another journal, swearing this time will be different. You light a candle, do your skincare, write an affirmation, and still feel stuck. Because here’s the truth that no one tells you:
The glow-up you’re craving isn’t aesthetic, it’s strategic.
And it starts with building the right habits for your goals.
As a mindset coach, I’ve seen it all. The overcomplicating. The overwhelm. The guilt spiral that comes when you “fall off” yet another routine. But the secret isn’t in doing more. It’s in doing what matters most, consistently.
Let’s talk about how to choose habits that are actually aligned with the life you want (instead of the one Instagram is selling you).
First: Stop Copying Other People’s Habits
Let me be blunt: If your habits don’t reflect your goals, they’re a distraction.
That 6 a.m. workout might look productive, but if your goal is to heal burnout and reconnect with your body, it might be completely misaligned. Reading 10 pages a day is great, but not if you're only doing it because TikTok told you successful people read.
You don’t need someone else’s glow-up routine. You need your own roadmap.
Start asking yourself:
What do I want to experience in my life a year from now?
Who do I want to become?
What habits will get me there faster, stronger, and with less burnout?
Understand This: Your Habits Shape Your Identity
Everything in your life, your energy, confidence, relationships, and success, comes down to one thing:
The habits you repeat (or don’t repeat) every day.

How to Choose the Right Habits for You
Here’s my mindset coach framework for picking habits that stick:
1. Get Clear on Your End Goal
Before you build habits, you need to define success for yourself.
Not society. Not your best friend. Not that influencer.
Ask yourself:
What would my dream life feel like?
What do I want more of (peace, energy, income, time)?
What do I want less of (overwhelm, self-doubt, burnout)?
2. Reverse Engineer the Identity
Once you have your goal, ask: “What kind of person has that life already?”
If your dream life includes being confident, fulfilled, and financially free—what does that version of you do on a regular basis?
Does she honour her time?
Does she move her body with love?
Does she set boundaries?
Does she journal through self-doubt instead of spiraling in it?
These aren’t just tasks—they’re identity-reinforcing habits.
3. Choose Keystone Habits
Not all habits are created equal. Some have a ripple effect on your mindset, time, and energy. These are your keystone habits.
Examples:
Daily planning → better time management → reduced anxiety
Morning mindset check-in → clearer thinking → aligned choices
Saying “no” more → stronger boundaries → more self-trust
Find the 3–5 habits that directly impact your bigger vision. Start there—not with a 15-step morning routine.
Why Generic Glow-Up Tips Won’t Save You
Look, a sheet mask and lemon water won’t rebuild your confidence.
No amount of productivity hacks will make up for habits that are out of alignment with your purpose.
