Your New Month Mindset Reset
I can’t believe it either… September starts tomorrow, which means we’re already 8 months through the year! 😳
Now, I’m a big believer that you don’t have to wait for a new month (or a Monday!) to show up for yourself. But… a new month is a pretty good reminder to pause, reflect, and reset.
And this month, I want you to take it a step further.
I don’t just want you to set vague intentions. I want you to make a real commitment to yourself- a promise you can actually keep. One that feels aligned, realistic, and non-negotiable.
This mindset reset isn’t about forcing motivation or hustling harder.
It’s about doing the deep work to rewire the parts of your brain that have been keeping you stuck, so you can finally follow through on who you say you want to be.
Because let’s be honest, there are only 4 months left of 2025… and we are going to make them count.
Ready to get out of your own way?
I’ve helped over 100 women do the work that’s needed to remove mental blockers that are holding them back. My clients go from self-sabotage to self-trust so that they can consistently act like the woman they want to become.

Step 1: Make Your Monthly Commitment
This is where it starts. Write this sentence down and fill in the blank:
👉 “This month I will show up for myself by ________.”
This is your anchor for the month ahead. Not a fluffy goal you’ll forget about by week two, but a clear promise to yourself.
Step 2: Confront What’s Been Holding You Back
Here’s the hard truth: you already know what you want to do. But you’re not doing it.
That doesn’t mean you’re lazy or unmotivated. It means your brain’s default settings are pulling you back to what feels familiar.
Journal on this:
“Why does my brain think that holding me back is the best option?”
Is it trying to keep me safe? Conserve energy? Stay in the comfort zone?
Once you see it clearly, you’ll understand that the “resistance” isn’t personal—it’s just programming. And programming can be rewired.
Step 3: Create Your “Spiral Stopper”
This is a simple thought, action, or ritual that snaps you out of your old cycle when overwhelm, fear, or self-doubt show up.
Write yours down right now. It could be:
A grounding mantra
A 2-minute walk outside
Texting a supportive friend
Pausing for three deep breaths
Your spiral stopper will save you when your brain tries to drag you back to old habits.
Step 4: Audit Your Habits
Habits are sneaky. They quietly shape who we are becoming, whether we notice them or not.
Ask yourself:
What tiny habits are making it easy for me to fall back into old patterns?
How can I design my environment to make “best self” habits easier?
Then choose a habit-building technique to test this month. For example:
Habit stacking: Attach your new habit to something you already do daily.
Environment design: Remove friction (lay out your workout clothes the night before, hide your phone when you’re working).
Two-minute rule: Make the first step of your habit so small you can’t fail.
Step 5: Create a Mini Reset Ritual
Spoiler alert: you will slip. You’re human. That’s okay.
The trick is not to avoid slipping, but to recover faster when you do. That’s where your reset ritual comes in.
A reset ritual is a simple, symbolic action that tells your brain: “I’ve slipped, but I’m choosing to move forward again.”
Examples:
Changing your outfit for a physical reset
Journaling a single line in your notes app
Saying an empowering mantra out loud
Making a fresh cup of tea
Commit right now: the next time you slip, you’ll do your ritual immediately.
Step 6: Obstacle Planning (Optional Power Move)
Want to go the extra mile? Spend 15 minutes today writing down every possible obstacle you might face this month, and your intentional response for each.
When you already know how you’ll handle a challenge, it’s almost impossible to fall completely off track.
Your September Reset Is Ready
You’ve made your commitment. You’ve confronted your old defaults. You’ve created tools and rituals to keep yourself aligned.
This month, you don’t just hope you’ll show up differently—you’ve actually set yourself up to follow through.
