30 Things To Do Before Summer If You Want To Elevate Your Life

There’s something about summer that makes you want to become a completely different person.

Suddenly you want to wake up earlier, drink more water, romanticise your mornings, glow from within, become emotionally stable, wear linen, heal your inner child, and somehow also transform your entire life before June.

But elevating your life before summer is not about becoming perfect overnight.

It’s about entering this new season feeling:

  • lighter,

  • clearer,

  • more confident,

  • more aligned,

  • and more connected to yourself.

Because nothing feels better than stepping into summer knowing you’ve actually been pouring back into yourself for once.

So if you want this summer to feel different in the best possible way, here are 30 genuinely life-changing things to do before summer starts.

1. Create A Morning Routine That Doesn’t Feel Punishing

If your current morning routine is:

  • snoozing your alarm 4 times,

  • panic-scrolling Instagram,

  • and running on stress,

start there.

Your mornings shape your energy for the rest of the day.

You do not need a 5am wellness influencer routine (don’t worry!).

Even:

  • stretching,

  • journaling,

  • going for a walk,

  • or drinking coffee without your phone

can completely shift your mindset.

2. Stop Following People Who Make You Feel Bad About Yourself

This one is genuinely life-changing.

Your social media feed affects your self-worth more than most people realise.

Before summer, unfollow:

  • people who trigger comparison,

  • unrealistic beauty content,

  • negativity,

  • or anyone who consistently makes you feel “less than.”

Protecting your energy is self care. I try to do an audit of my ‘following’ once a week and it is life-changing!

3. Build A “Feel Good” Wardrobe

Not a trendy wardrobe. Not a “Pinterest perfect” wardrobe.

A wardrobe that genuinely makes you feel:

  • confident,

  • attractive,

  • comfortable,

  • and like yourself.

Your clothes affect your confidence massively.

Summer feels better when you stop wearing things that make you feel insecure.

My top tip is to find 4 staple bottoms (long skir, short skirt, shorts, trousers), 5 day-to-day tops, 5 ‘nice’ tops, and 3 dresses. Mix and match to switch things up, and you have your perfect summer wardrobe!

4. Start Walking More

This is the MOST underrated life upgrade.

Walking helps with:

  • anxiety,

  • confidence,

  • mental clarity,

  • emotional regulation,

  • creativity,

  • and energy levels.

It’s also one of the easiest ways to reconnect with yourself when life feels overwhelming.

Hot girl walks exist for a reason.

5. Learn How To Be Alone Without Feeling Lonely

This changes EVERYTHING.

Take yourself:

  • for coffee,

  • on solo walks,

  • to bookstores,

  • to brunch,

  • or on little solo dates.

Women who enjoy their own company move through life differently. They don’t need validation and don’t fear losing people. Which means that they are in their POWER when it comes to their relationships.

That confidence is magnetic.

6. Declutter Your Space

A cluttered room genuinely affects your mood.

Before summer:

  • clean your room,

  • organise your wardrobe,

  • throw away products you never use,

  • and create a space that feels calm.

Your environment influences your nervous system more than you think.

7. Start Journaling Properly

Not just:

“Today was stressful lol.”

Actually reflect on your life.

Ask yourself:

  • What’s draining me?

  • What version of myself am I becoming?

  • What habits are keeping me stuck?

  • What do I actually want this summer to feel like?

Self-awareness changes your life.

8. Romanticise Your Everyday Routine

Stop waiting for:

  • the holiday,

  • the relationship,

  • more money,

  • or “someday”

to enjoy your life.

Light candles.
Wear perfume daily.
Play music while cooking.
Buy the nice strawberries.

Tiny moments matter.

Romaticizing your day is the fastest way to start enjoying your life more. Trust me.

9. Raise Your Standards

Pay attention to:

  • what you tolerate,

  • how people speak to you,

  • how you speak to yourself,

  • and the environments you keep returning to.

Self-worth often looks like quietly deciding: “This no longer works for me.”

Give yourself a challenge to set one small standard each week. That would be telling someone how you feel, having an honest conversation about boundaries, or simply choosing not to spend your energy on things that drain you anymore.

10. Get Serious About Your Mental Health

If you’ve been emotionally struggling for a while, stop minimising it.

Summer feels very different when your mental health is supported.

That might mean:

  • therapy,

  • journaling,

  • better routines,

  • rest,

  • boundaries,

  • or asking for help.

You deserve support too.

If something hasn’t been feeling right for a while. Take action.

11. Spend Less Time Consuming And More Time Creating

Instead of constantly scrolling other people’s lives:

  • write,

  • create content,

  • start the blog,

  • paint,

  • cook,

  • learn photography,

  • build something.

Your confidence grows when you create more than you consume.

Creating is a great way to discover your identity and learn who you are outside of your favourite influencers!

12. Learn To Say No Without Explaining Yourself

This is a major life upgrade.

You do not need a 14-slide presentation to justify your boundaries.

“No” is enough.

Protect your peace this summer.

13. Build A Night Routine That Calms Your Nervous System

Your evenings should not feel like:

  • overstimulation,

  • doomscrolling,

  • anxiety,

  • and emotional chaos.

Try:

  • reading,

  • skincare,

  • stretching,

  • herbal tea,

  • journaling,

  • low lighting,

  • or relaxing music.

Soft evenings create softer mornings.

14. Stop Speaking Negatively About Yourself

Pay attention to how often you say:

  • “I look awful.”

  • “I’m so lazy.”

  • “I hate myself.”

  • “I’m behind.”

Your brain is listening constantly.

Confidence starts with your internal dialogue.

15. Create A Summer Vision Board

Not because it magically manifests your dream life overnight.

But because clarity matters.

Think about:

  • how you want to feel,

  • what energy you want to embody,

  • what habits you want to build,

  • and what kind of summer you actually want.

Intentional living changes everything.

16. Drink More Water

Simple. Effective. Life-changing.

Energy.
Skin.
Mood.
Focus.
Digestion.
Confidence.

Water helps more than people realise.

17. Spend More Time Offline

Some of the happiest women I know are not chronically online.

Spend more time:

  • outside,

  • reading,

  • talking,

  • travelling,

  • walking,

  • creating memories,

  • and actually living your life.

Not just documenting it.

18. Learn Your Emotional Triggers

Elevating your life also means elevating your emotional intelligence.

Pay attention to:

  • what triggers insecurity,

  • emotional spirals,

  • people-pleasing,

  • or self-sabotage.

Awareness is the first step to changing anything.

19. Stop Waiting To Feel “Ready”

Most people delay their entire life waiting for confidence to arrive first.

Apply anyway.
Start anyway.
Go anyway.

Confidence is built through action.

20. Curate Better Friendships

Summer is more enjoyable when you’re surrounded by people who:

  • inspire you,

  • support you,

  • celebrate you,

  • and bring peaceful energy into your life.

Pay attention to who drains you.

Take the friendship audit to find out whether your friends are worth keeping!

21. Read Books That Improve Your Mindset

Your mindset affects:

  • relationships,

  • confidence,

  • habits,

  • money,

  • opportunities,

  • and self-worth.

A few genuinely good books can completely shift the way you think.

Here are 100 self help books to add to your list!

22. Move Your Body In Ways You Actually Enjoy

You do not need to punish yourself to become healthier.

Try:

  • Pilates,

  • dance classes,

  • swimming,

  • yoga,

  • long walks,

  • hiking,

  • or cycling.

Movement should support your life, not consume it.

23. Stop Abandoning Yourself In Relationships

This is a huge one.

Do not:

  • ignore red flags,

  • over-explain your needs,

  • settle for inconsistency,

  • or shrink yourself to keep someone interested.

Healthy love should not cost your self-respect.

24. Learn To Rest Without Feeling Guilty

Rest is productive.

You are not lazy for:

  • slowing down,

  • sleeping more,

  • taking breaks,

  • or protecting your energy.

Burnout is not a personality trait.

25. Make More Plans

Romanticise your actual life.

Plan:

  • beach days,

  • picnics,

  • solo dates,

  • spa days,

  • road trips,

  • hikes,

  • sunset walks,

  • and cute little experiences.

Life feels better when you give yourself things to look forward to.

26. Start Taking Better Care Of Your Finances

Financial wellness is self care too.

Before summer:

  • review your spending,

  • build healthier habits,

  • start saving,

  • or create financial goals.

Money stress affects your peace more than people admit.

27. Become More Selective With Your Energy

Not everyone deserves unlimited access to you.

Protect:

  • your time,

  • your attention,

  • your peace,

  • and your emotional energy.

High self-worth women stop pouring into situations that constantly drain them.

28. Wear Sunscreen

Future you will thank you deeply.

That’s it.
That’s the tip.

29. Let Go Of The Need To “Glow Up” Perfectly

You do not need to become:

  • thinner,

  • richer,

  • prettier,

  • more productive,

  • or completely healed

before allowing yourself to enjoy summer.

You are allowed to enjoy your life as you are now.

That mindset shift alone is freeing.

30. Decide That This Summer Will Feel Different

Not because your entire life suddenly becomes perfect.

But because YOU become more intentional.

More present.
More self-aware.
More connected to yourself.
More willing to choose better for yourself.

That’s the real elevation.

And usually, it starts with the small things you choose to do consistently before summer even begins.

Final Thoughts

Elevating your life before summer is not about becoming a whole new person overnight.

It’s about slowly becoming more:

  • aligned,

  • intentional,

  • emotionally healthy,

  • confident,

  • and connected to yourself.

The women who genuinely seem to “have it together” are usually not women with perfect lives.

They’re women who consistently choose habits, environments, people, and routines that support their wellbeing.

And that’s something you can start doing today.

One small decision at a time.
